Roeddem wrth ein boddau i fynychu Gwobrau STEM Cymru ym mis Hydref a chael ein prosiect ‘Learning Lab Cymru’ ei phleidleisio’r Rhaglen Addysgol STEM y Flwyddyn yn y categori dielw.
Nid yn unig hynny, ond cawsom ni hefyd dystysgrif Canmoliaeth Uchel fel Cwmni STEM y Flwyddyn ar gyfer sefydliadau sydd â llai na 50 o weithwyr — rhywbeth y gall ein tîm bach a nerthol fod yn hynod falch ohono.
Mae Gwobrau STEM Cymru yn ceisio tynnu sylw at y sector STEM yng Nghymru ac, yn y seremoni ddiweddar, cafodd llawer o sefydliadau ac unigolion ysbrydoledig eu hamlygu.
Arweiniwyd panel o feirniaid arbenigol gan Dr Louise Bright, sylfaenydd rhwydwaith Menywod mewn STEM Cymru, wrth iddyn nhw ganolbwyntio ar y gwaith arloesol sy’n cael ei wneud yng Nghymru i godi dyheadau’r genhedlaeth nesaf ym meysydd gwyddoniaeth, technoleg, peirianneg a mathemateg — cyfweld â’r rhai a gyrhaeddodd y rownd derfynol mewn mwy na deuddeg gategori i benderfynu’r enillwyr.
Dan ofal y ddarlledwraig Sian Lloyd, derbyniwyd y gwobrau gan Brif Swyddog Gweithredol Techniquest, Lesley Kirkpatrick. Dyma beth oedd ganddi i’w ddweud ar y noson:

“After a challenging few years, it’s so rewarding to be recognised by the Wales STEM Awards’ judges, particularly in categories where we up against such strong competition. Our Learning Lab Cymru programme takes a hybrid approach to learning both in and outside of the classroom, in person and through digital channels, and we hope it will continue to grow over the coming years into something more and more schools can get involved with.
“Being at the awards ceremony gave us the chance to learn about so many fantastic projects and companies that are working so hard to build a strong STEM sector in Wales — and one of things we loved most about the night was the way in which so many people we spoke to had fond memories of coming to Techniquest themselves when they were younger: making science hands-on and fun had a really positive influence on them and it was a delight to hear them reminisce about their favourite exhibits from their visits to us in the past.”
